TOWN NEWS
Welcome to our website where independent-minded local residents present the true facts and accurate news that is about our Town of Patterson.
FRONT STREET UPDATE
By now most of you are aware of the underground work being completed within the Hamlet. The inconveniences and noise will be worth it in the end for our Town as new water lines are being connected to the Dorsett Hollow water system. The major holdback for Front Street being a viable commercial zone was the prohibitive lack of sewer and water for commercial business. The sewer connections were made two years ago and the water lines should be completed sometime this summer. Supervisor Williams and the Town Board secured over 1.2 million dollars from the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and additional two hundred and fifty thousand dollars from Putnam County to pay for this operation. Once completed we are hopeful to attract new commercial businesses to serve our community and provide tax revenue for the Town.
HOTEL UPDATE
The proposed boutique hotel is progressing through the review process from outside agencies and while it is taking some time, the project is projected to be a significant economic, employment, and service asset for the Town, while preserving 11 acres of wetlands and open space.
NEW RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
The Town Recreational center on Front Street is adding a children’s playground for the day care program. The Veterans Park on Maple Avenue has erected a new playground apparatus and the Club Court playground in Putnam Lake will be renovated. The indoor pickleball program at the Recreation Center has been a great success.

NEVER TOO EARLY TO PLAN A CHRISTMAS PARTY!
The Holiday Tree lighting event in Patterson last December 14 was a big success where local vendors, a parade of decorated trucks, festive music and local businesses got together and presented a fun and free family program next to the Patterson Library. The event is planned for this December 13 and it promises to be even more festive this year. Petersen’s Nursery has installed a permanent live spruce tree that will be the centerpiece of all the future Holiday programs, the Patterson Library is planning on presenting a concert, the Patterson Fire Department and a number of our local businesses and Farmers Market vendors will participate, and the truck parade will light up the Town. We will post more information as the details evolve, so keep the date open.
